Here we go again.One more season of basketball that ultimately ends with Jeter on the losing end.We have some old players back in the league this season.Welcome back Nolan, Tony AO, Dylan, Mike Yaldo, Marvin Aboona, Mike N, and Thomas.We also got a new player (Justin Orow) that went third overall and should live up to the hype.Now, lets break down the teams:
Captain:Derek Dabish
This team looks real good just as long as Nolan does not get suspended for half the season (reminder Derek, you get a 6th rounder if your player is suspended not equal talent).With the number one pick Nick Shango carrying the offense, this team should be able to spread the court and dominate the boards.With Shango, Nolan, Jeter, and Marvin rebounding, it will be very hard to compete with this team down low.They are a little weak at the 3 point line due to the lack of shooters.Rob Semaan looked good in the playoffs last season and should contribute to some offense if he gets the ball.And now we are left with Thomas (just like Jeter was at the end of the draft), who should help on the boards and his hustle play.Good team all around, but we all know that Jeter is cursed and will never win it all.Odds to win:5.5 to 1
Captain:Lance Sitto
Lance tried to pick the same team as last season.Note to Lance, YOU DID NOT GET NICK SHANGO Last season is over and now we got better talent all around.The lack of size will hurt the team on both sides of the court.Besides Nathan, the rest of the team will not be able to create there own shot.A lot of the same players who play the same position on this team (Nathan, Nawar, Mike Yaldo, and Chris Sesi).The only big man they have is Ziad, and he will probably miss half the season after getting married this month.Good luck Z, No really GOOD ****ING LUCK!I do not like this team to win it all, but Lance has won 2 out of 3 championships since he has been in the league.Odds to win:7 to 1.
Captain:Kalvin Facherpour
Kalvin did a very good job drafting.His first good decision was passing me up to pick rookie Justin Orow.Justin will carry the team offensively throughout the season.Senan will be the brains of the operation and will make the team better all around.Cheap shot Dylan will dominate the boards and down low play.Those three players make this team great, and the bottom three make it even better.The bottom three guys are good role players and have a lot of experience in the league.Kalvin will help the offense with his perimeter play and who is also a very underrated defensive player.Dave will get his usual cherry pick points and Brian will hack everyone in sight (you need that on your team).All around this team looks good and will go as far as the rookie can take them.I hope Justin is ready.Odds to win:4.5 to 1
Captain:Zeke Arafat
This team actually might have a chance to win it all.They will have to win it with Defense.Joey, Zeek, and Jeff Orow will do most of the work (because we know Nouri does not play any defense) defensively, while Lifetime (AKA Nouri Orow) does all the work on the offensive side.This team will also get out and run for a lot of fast break points.Zeek ended his draft with two solid picks of Ray Samano and Mike N.Mike is a very smart player while Ray is a moron on the court (they balance out).Ray will stand at the 3 point line and yell at the refs most of the game.The only good thing is that Zeek might get an upgrade if Ray gets suspended.Good team, but rookie coach and Lifetime has proven that he is not a big game winner.Odds to win:6.5 to 1
Captain:Keith Hadi
By far the worst coach in CAL history.Good players but a bad team.This team will take as much shots at the bar before the game as they will during the game.Look for this team to fall apart by half time of the first game.But if they dont, they will be a sick team.With Keith and Fadi defending down low and Tony J and Ernest up top, this team will hold its own defensively.Offensively, these four can not be stopped.There may not be enough balls on the court to go around.Keith and Fadi will not be doubled or tripled this season.You will even have to guard there bottom players because they can hit their shots.Dani is good enough all around and smart on the court.Randy stepped his game up last season and showed us all what he can do (Hit big shots).Very good all around as long as they do not yell at each other.Odds to win:6.5 to 1
Captain:Nick Ammori (I mean Samer Petrous)
Nick Ammori in the second round is unheard of. I will tell you why, 25 extra pounds and getting married (GOOD ****ING LUCK ZIAD).Even though I may have lost a step or two and could not get off the ground, I will have a great supporting cast.Tony AO, will guard my guy and his at the same time while I tell him what to do.Very good team defensively with Tony, DP, and Fadi E.Offensively, I will have a lot of options with Tony and Fadi E on the wings.DP will handle the boards and put backs.This is also one of the teams you can not leave open.Samer can hit the mid range shots and Jonny (the better Samano) can hit from anywhere.Good on offense, good on defense and good at full court fast breaks.Tough to stop and score on.Odds to win:4.5 to 1
I have been wrong before, but those are my odds for the season.If you do not like them, make up your own.
I have to admit, I was wrong. Keiths team did not fall apart at half time of the first game. They held it together till the end of the game to start yelling at eachother and giving the game away. I underestemated you guys. Fat Tony had his usual playing with his head down and Ernest yelling at the ref while on the ground expecting a foul call after taking a bad shot. The team gave the game away at the end by giving up and yelling up and down the court. Personally, I love it. You can't watch **** like this on T.V. Keep it up guys!
For what it's worth. I think it's going to be Samer's team vs. Derek's team in the finals with Samer's team winning and another championship eluding Derek Dabish.
