Before I say anything, I want to say congratulations to Eltons team, you guys played a helluva game, tonight and for most of the season, you guys deserved to win it, as both teams did tonight, it just so happens that you guys came out on top tonight, half barrels you also played a heck of a game and I am glad I was able to be a part of your team this season...
On a lower note, but in no way do I mean to degrade Elton's team accomplishments, I think its a shame that such a great game came down to a horrible loose ball call and a horrible no call on the last play of the game, both teams earned a right to play it out, and to have the game determined on a pair of free throws is ridiculous, especially on a play when the ball is loose and people are diving on the ground our guy just gets a call, but at the other end Jalal hits Nick in the head on the final shot of the game and is jumpin all over him, but he receives nothing...
...The league has been a blast this session and I am glad I joined and became a part of it, but I have been saying this for weeks, next season, real refs should be hired that do not participate as players in the league, that way there can be no claim of a biases by any refs, which I feel subconcisouly might happen b/c we all know how each other plays, I understand its a hard job to maintain, and thats why I feel like outsiders should man the whistles...
Again, congrats to Eltons team, you guys deserved it, but I think its safe to say you guys would rather not have won that way either
I have never been apart of a game that two teams played as hard as Nicks team and Eltons team.
I agree with Joey as far as the game coming down to free throws ( way to be clutch C ). Joey, you Nick and Derek played very hard game and to be honest showed Heart. Joey it was great playing against you, Your very competitive and a great player, it would be nice if we end up on the same team next season.
Nick, I can only say that whether you won or me it was a championship well deserved, you taught me alot as far as using my size. I hope what happened last year dosent discourage you from making us a team again. I saw the emotion you had after the game but everybody knows that your all heart and the best all around player in the league.
I really appreciate who ever voted on M.V.P, it was a honor to represent C.A.L, Even though I put that on my shirt, I didnt expect it, it was as a inside joke for Elton.
Over all its been a great season, I have a championship, a beautiful wife , and most importantly a beautiful Son. I just wana say Thanks Guys for everything!
Ps To the KINGS OF THE COURT, I cant express what you guys mean to me, all I can say is that you guys played with so much heart . This was a TEAM effort and never could have been done without each of you.
My eyes just started watering...no they didn't, alright fine they did...WTF, I'm an emotional guy!!! All BS aside, you guys are the bomb, nothing but true competitors in this league, but more importantly, great men (and one loser, sorry Tony, you're still my boy...fine, you're not a loser). To The Half Barrels, you guys put it all out there, and came to win, thanks forr giving everyone a great game to watch, no one can doubt your competitiveness and desire. To my champions, The Kings of the Court, you guys made me very proud, I couldn't ask for anything more...from the first game, to the last, you came to play, you came to win, and you did it with class. You exemplified the will of a champion, and demonstrated on the court the fire and intensity I always knew you had. Thank you.

Joey, why did you feel the need to come back hours after your inital post, just to call me a loser. You asshol$. I still love you though bro!!!
Anyway, I do have to say that going back to the playoff games, everyone did play their hearts out. Last nighs game was no different, in the beginning the victorious team came out swinging and later found themselves blow for blow with Nick's team and Fadi, you're right, it was all heart during that strecth for Nick and those guys. IT WAS A DAMN GOOD GAME, but I have to admit and agree that with 8 seconds to go and 2 guys flopping around for a loose ball on the ground outside of scoring range, a weak ass call to put someone to the line should not of been made for either team. There are always to going to bad calls but everyone knows that the ones inside of two minutes and especially inside of 10 seconds are going o be the most magnified.
Think of it this way, Nicks team is down by 2 and Nick comes down and gets the call Joey is talking about and ties the game with no time left and an opportunity at a free throw to win the game. Elton, you would have lost your mind and made the same argument that the call should not of been made. I will be the first to say that the foul was nothing more than street ball contact and should never be made at teh end of the game because we are tough MEN not boys. HOWEVER, htat call should have been made considering it fell in line with what John was looking at when he called the foul which put Eltons team up by two. It should have atleast been made for a make up call and give Nicks teama shot at the line as well.
Listen, congratualtions to the winners, I am not taking anything away from you guys becasue you guys played a hell of a game and I think played the most teamball over the entire season. to Nick's team, Your game plan of 2-3 Zone worked and you guys played a hell of a game as well. I am glad I was golfing with that loser Joey when he got the phone call concerning another point gaurd for Keiths team. I am happy to be in this league and enjoy showing up every Tuesday...
I have three requests though, the first would be that the level of competition displayed in the playoffs and the finals begins throughtoutt he entire league from week 1. It just makes for more controversial and funny message oard posts.
Second, During the playoffs, there should be three refs if we are going to ref the games ourselves.
And third, can we get the website updated more often please!!

Last night was a great game. Joey, that was a backhanded congratulations. For the record - I did NOT hit Nick in the head, I jumped to block the shot, right for the ball - next thing I know, the game is over - just like I told Nick. Also, jumping all over him, around him, in front of him... that's not a foul so lets not complain about that.
Joey - you played a great 1st half. I admired your will to win. You were aggressive and everywhere, truly the major reason your team came back from a large deficit. But, please don't say that I got away with something like smacking Nick upside his head because that's not what happened. I don't have to hack someone to play great defense, I have the fewest fouls in the League. We won because we distributed the ball well, got to the open man, and made our buckets. Fadi, the MVP of the League, was ON FIRE. Cenan made clutch shots and some great passes to Fadi who converted. Mike and Pat helped me break your and Nick's press so we could score. We controlled the game.
Jalal, I know you are aspiring to be an attorney, and as one who is already into law school, I can tell you you gotta learn to interpret things a little better, I wasnt making excuses or complaining, I gave you guys all the credit, my point was that there was as much contact on that loose ball that we got called for as there was on your defense (both plays were so weak of fouls that they didnt deserve to be called in the first two minutes of the game, much less the last 9 seconds), and that the game was played too well on both sides for it to have come down to free throws like it did...
...P.S. as tony said in his posting, imagine the score being tied and Nick getting that same call with 3 seconds left to send him to the line, if you admit you'd be mad as hell to then your honest, and if you deny and say something like "well, the ref blew the whistle, so its a fould," then you are further along than I thought to meeting your goal of being a lawyer
