I was told a story about a recent event back home in Iraq. The reason for this post is to remind everyone of the importance of morals, respect, and what our people are living with. When I heard the story, it really ****ed me off to the point the hairs on my neck stood up for hours. I don't know how many of you guys vote but if you don't, maybe this story will change your mind. Ray, that petition you brought to the league and everyone signed was good chit bro, it's good to see that you are involved with our folks back home. Here's the story..
A Muslim dude walked into a village and ordered all the catholic Chaldeans to leave within the next 15 days or else they would all be murdered. A Chaldean girl was kidnapped and raped by 8 guys. The girl came from a well off family and the kidnappers demanded money. They raped, beat, raped, raped, and raped, this beautiful girl. When they called her family, she got on the phone with her dad and demanded that he did not pay the ransom for her life because in her eyes, she was already dead. Obviously I don't know the words verbatim but it was in line with, "Dad, I can't believe what these guys have done to me sexually. There isn't a thing that I have now not been sexually exposed to. I am dead in my eyes, if you pay the ransom; I’m just going to kill myself when I’m set free. Love you." and then she hung up the phone and was shot dead.
Sit back and ask yourself how you feel after reading this. Ask yourself what you would do if your sister, girlfriend, mother, etc. was the victim of this horrendous act by a group of cowards that must prey on helpless people. Especially the ladies of our culture/religion/nationality..
I am not a racist by any means. I have Muslim friends, black friends, white friends, etc., but I am no way affiliated with cowards that prey on women. The reason I posted this message is because It made me ask myself, "what can I do to make a diffenrence". I doubt that there is much but anything would be better than nothing."

sorry Tony, but I'm a little confused....how does this relate to saddam, voting or to us in general.....its a very sad story but if you're making the point that we should be more involved in our community in helping our fellow chaldeans, I understand and agree totally...but I dont see how that relates to anything else b/c it seems like that would and has happened whether saddam was in power or not, and secondly I dont think either presidential candidate gives a **** about the Iragi people so it wont really make a difference.
And just to let you guys know I'm coming back this week and you guys better watch your backs....just like schwartzenneger said in Commando, "I eat green berets for breakfast and right now I'm VERY HUNGRY."
This is a horrible story Tony, but frankly i still don't think anyone is going to say that Chaldeans were better off under Saddam since these atrocities were already going on when he was in power! By the way, i strongly disagree with ray's petition. the answer to the persecution that our people face isn't in putting American troops in front of our towns to guard us from terrorists. Our people are the original people of Iraq, and the only way we will have any sort of future there is to cooperate with the democratic process, starting with the elections in January. Giving our people any kind of American protection will only make them more vulnerable to suffering at the hands of terrorists. The answer is not to put a band-aid on a gunshot wound, but to be patient and eventually, with their Muslim neighbors, our people will have a place within the New Iraq.

Ray Ray, I hear ya pimp. Listen, I just thought I'd share that story to give some persepctive on everyones problems. All **** aside, I don't think I've been mad except about the story in the last 2 days. My boy just had his cousin kille dback home by the Shiite's a week or two ago. That **** hits home bro. That girl was only 16 and like a real one she told those ****s to go **** themselves if they thought she was going to give them the satisfaction of getting any money from her family. After all, back home those ****s took something much more valuable from her and her family when it took 8 of them to rape her. Anyway, as sad as that story was to hear, I would prefer to hear it because it acts as a dialy reminder as to what we don't deal with except doing books on Tuesday morning. You feel me Ray Ray?!!
As much as I think Tony likes men, or little boys for that matter, I don't disagree with him for posting the above mentioned story. I believe that hearing about situations like that should raise conciousness. If you were upset after reading that, then good, it served it's purpose. It is suppose to help you wake up and realize the harsh realities that exist outside our safe haven. I know that everyone knows as well as I do that there are many terrible things going on in the world today, and I'm as guilty as most are for being too consumed with my "busy" life...but talking about these situations is a good start, because these discussions create dialogue amongst most people that would never even touch the topic. Bottom line, I think it's good to stir up people's emotions so that it gets them moving, active, and doing things like voting for the next president, joining groups that make a difference, contributing to a good cause, or something as simple as raising their children to be aware of their surroundings and what's going on in the world while being thankful for what God gives us, without taking it for granted like what most of us do everyday. Pray for a better way, and when you find it, follow it!
