Thanks for the PLAYERS who voted for me. But I don't think I'm going to win/join the Tourney team because it seems that more than just PLAYERS are doing the voting... How do we have 58 votes, so far, when we have 36 players? Who else is allowed to vote, how many times can we all vote...? If you can ask anyone (friends, family, work colleagues, yourself on several different PCs, etc) to go to the site and vote for you, then - in my humble opinion - it's more of a popularity contest, than a vote for skillful players to be on the team.

How does Fadi E. get more votes than Jalal, Taneem, Joey, and Tony??? Wow, are you kidding me! Jalal, I was thinking the same thing and for a minute.. I was thinking that each voter counted as two votes but at 59 votes registered, it's obvious that isn't true. Anyway, talent has never been judged right in this league anyway. You would think that for your ability to run point, Joey's hustle, energy and rebounding for a little guy, Tony's defense and decent offensive game, and Taneems height playing a factor with rebounds and defense against the big guys that C.A.L will be facing, anyone of these guys should be ahead of Fadi E. Anyway, I just thought it was funny as well. Oh then there's Jeter.

First off, Fadi E. is a great player. His 3 point J is money, and he plays tough, hard-nosed D. I think he deserves to get the votes. Secondly, I agree that it shouldn't be about popularity and whos name people recognize but about actual talent and skill of the player. Having said that, how can we limit the votes to just players in CAL? i don't think that's possible unless elton made it a password poll or something and told all of us in the league the password...i don't even think that would work. I guess it's an imperfect way to choose, but it's the only way i can think of...

The tournament is on Saturday and Sunday, January 15th and 16th at : FITZGERALD HIGH SCHOOL 23200 RYAN RD, WARREN, MI 48091 Phone: (586) 757-7070

The games played on Saturday are to determine your team's ranking, and Sunday's games are playoffs.

It is located on Ryan rd just northeast of 9 Mile. The times I believe are from 9am to 5pm or so...please ask me again before the tournament just to verfiy. Everyone is encouraged to come, I think the more support we have the better we'll do. It's a family environment, lots of fans come, and they have food/snacks available as well.

No offense to the other guys on that list, but Fadi E's overall game is ahead of everyones, let me see: he can pass, shoot from anywhere, rebound, play good defense and is tough, thats good enough for me and for the second guy my vote is for myself. That team needs somone who can be the glue that takes us to victory. Yo ?????? are you questioning your sexuality with that screen name. Also, to many players look at stats in this league and make an assumption about a players game, they think points are everything. Why dont we have a one on one contest to decide those last two spots because thats what it all comes down to right? scoring, schooling somebody, etc. Then we'll really see whos got game in this league.

You miss me!? I know I know, you miss me! It took me a while to go back and read a lot of the posts and I finally got to yours Jeff. I agree with you in regards to stats, etc. I've been saying that all along.

Anyway, I think it;s funny how Elton's voted for % jumped drastically when Fadi announced he wasn't going to be able to make it. The FBO (Federal Bureau of Offti's) was called and there is a pending investigation. Elton, take a deep one, I'm just messign around, but the percentage thing is true though.

I gotta be honest, I thought it was kind of weird too...I thought everybody hated me, so it's very refreshing to see my name with that high percentage. The stats don't mean anything, and obviously wasn't a factor with my selection, look my total points, and I'll still bomb on Tony. Having said that, I'd like to thank all the little people that voted for me, be sure to stop by my office, I have your money waiting...I'd like to thank Ray for being the d!**head that he is, b/c if it wasn't for him making me look so good this might not have been possible. I love you Ray. I'd like to thank Samer for his fluke blocking streak b/c if it wasn't for him BSing and thinking he can actually block somebody, the appreciation for my quality non-cheap blocks would'nt be as great. Happy 25th buddy (you old f**k). And finally, I'd like to thank all the people of China, Russia, and Afghanistan for allowing Keith to shoot from their countries, and enabling us to expand our international audience. USA! USA! USA! USA!

Ok Elton, you and I both know that this whole voting system was total Bulls***. A sham, a mockery, a SHAMOCKERY!

In the first post, you said we should have the opinion of the LEAGUE...AS IN THE CAL LEAGUE that we are sending our team out of. As in the PLAYERS of the CAL. This online poll says there are 93 votes, and there are only 36 players in the league! This team should be made up of the best players we have to compete in order to give us a fighting chance to win...and it should be from the players in the league...not based on a popularity contest in which people's family and friends vote for them and where players themselves vote on multiple computers.

I've talked to some other guys and they feel the same: we should have a paper ballot in which the players cast before their respective games on wed. I mean, i'm not trying to hate at all...but let's be realistic and represent for our LEAGUE with the BEST PLAYERS WE CAN

P.S. why did they six players that made the team automatically make the team?? no disrespect to any of those guys, but we should hold a vote to choose ALL 8 players...

Thanks Jeff....I totally agree, everyone cums over stats and think that is judge of talent!!! I do not take 50 shots a game and prefer to have everyone on my team involved, because although this is competitive and fun, we're not playing for money or NBA championship, so if someone is open and no matter who it is, Ill pass it to them, thats just the way I play, and if no one likes that, oh well, thats how I play. But thanks for everyone who voted for me, and no matter which 8 players go to the tournament, I think we'll be taking home the championship, or else Fadi G is gonna be breaking some bones.
