Free agency can be a double-edged sword. Although it gives teams an opportunity to improve, it also can strip teams of important players. La Familia hasn't yet felt the pain but in certain instances, it is difficult to fill the holes created by players departing.

For certain players however, the moves could be the best thing for them.  John B. will be allowed to shoot more and back to his 45 shot attempts and Fadi E. will hopefully be able to find the motivation to play again under new management. 

However, with no creditable big man or point guard, it will be very difficult for President and player Ray Samona to take his team to the next level.  Already at 0-2 with blame pointed at the two traded away, (Old Man Winter, Zeke Arafat, and Cancer by the stick, Tony Jarbou), many would argue, it was Mr. Samona's selfish offensive dreaming as well as his lack of defensive presence and Joey Kejbo's inability to make a shot outside 5 feet that did the once so dominant team to part ways. 

An organization might not have enough room under the salary cap, or it might not find the right option to fill the void. Needs can sometimes be filled through the draft, but it is always risky to replace an established player.  OMW Zeke Arafat and his long time teammate Tony Jarbou are headed to join forces with the MVP and two time champion Nick Amori.  With Zeke and Tony once being a very difficult one two punch to contend, it seems they have both lost a step but are still a force to be reckoned with.  With Nick, smart point guards that will make you pay for your mistakes and one that gets all involved, it might just be what the doctor ordered for Zeke and Tony.  Nick brings that additional true threat to the mix as opposed to Joey Kejbo or Ray Samano.

Either way, when these two teams meet, it should be a good one for TV.  Until then, enjoy the posts to follow.
