I'm very proud of the C.A.L. It is such a pleasure for me to meet, mingle, and play ball with all of you. I have never felt this sort of camaraderie amongst my Chaldean peers. I love how we can get together and play some seriously competitive organized b-ball.
I'm impressed that most of us leave our egos at the door and play this game. However, there is no excuse for some of the disrespect that is happening, most of it due to our own arrogance. Some of us think we can cuss everyone out and control everything and whine about every call. But, this entails a serious lack of sportsmanship. And, it's exciting to see you all hustle up and down the court, play together as a team, and play with passion. But, your passion for the game and for winning does NOT have to be muddled with insolence. We're ALL better than that.
I'm still trying to shake off the rust from my game and can get really frustrated at my personal performance, but I'm trying not to take out that frustration on my teammates, the refs, or the basketball. (The refs, by the way: thank you guys for taking the time to operate good games better than those "professional" refs.) Playing with you ballers makes me want to work on my game even more. I hope that the playoffs can bring out both the best athletic performance AND sportsmanship in all of us. Because, I think about how fortunate and honored I am to be apart of this league created by Chaldeans who are professionals: entrepreneurs, doctors, lawyers (if we don't have any attorneys yet, please know that I'll have my law degree in a few years!), engineers, service industry employees, and ambitious students of a new generation, my generation.
I agree with every word you just said, but some people in this league are difficult to deal with, but what can you do. We just need to make sure everyone respects each other and has fun, thats the whole point of this league, one person isnt above anyone in this league. I look forward to playing you guys next week, good luck.
Thank you Jalal and Jeff...those were some great comments, and it's what I look for in each player. Man I miss playing, I'm looking forward to dunking on everybody next season! No no no, I love you more
Not only will I hold the beast down, but I will pick him up and body slam him in the paint, and he'll still get called for the offensive foul...Man I love this league!!!
You should wear some glasses then son, either that, or learn how to read, my team is in first place, maybe you've heard of the King's of the Court...so as far as I know, on the leader board that counts as #1. Wait...how you gonna talk junk and you play for me?
I want to talk contract extension!!! If I dont get a extension I want to get traded. Coach learn from the Lakers, without the big man your nothing more than a 500 club. With me you have a 7-2 record without me you have never won a game! Value the big man, dont anger him or he will bust a Latrell Spreewell P.J choke move.
PS: I dont need to be Shaq, I'm already called DADDY
Spreewell/P.J., whatever bro, don't make me put on a red sweater and pull a Bobby Knight all around your neck...I'd also be weary of flying chairs, they'll help you work on your reflexes.
