I really did just get in from the airport...but yeah the second part was an attempt to lighten things up a bit.
I'm not completely oblivious to what occured this past week...I was briefly filled in yesterday, and kind of felt the tone of the situation by reading some of the messages posted since then.
Needless to say, I'm disappointed to see how some events have been unfolding this season. I'm not going to get into it too much right now with respect to what more than likely needs to be changed...however, I do feel like I need to say that every time I walk in to the gym and I see one of you guys, I feel like I'm seeing a good friend or someone that is part of my extended family. I think that aspect has been lost in a lot of us and we need to get it back.
Bottom line, like I've said many times before, it's a respect issue. People say that "oh I'm just talking sh!t to get under so-and-so's skin". If that's the case, then don't be surprised to get a negative reaction from them. You push people's buttons and they are going to react, and then in the midst of it you will feel like you were being disrespected, and you find yourself in a situation like the ones we've been having.
I do however appreciate that the guys who were man enough to apologize for their actions, did so...it shows that all isn't lost.
Anyway, for not wanting to go into it, I kind of did, but I just want to be sure that we have an environment where everybody still loves coming to CAL, playing ball, hanging out, and seeing everybody. It's nothing that I want to lose anytime soon.
Well, if you didn't have instigating bithc's like Joey K. always making matters worse, it probably wouldn't get so out of hand. But when he is the ear of those involved, all eis trying to do is escalate the situation only so he can get a good laugh. All the while, not realizing he is making matters worse and hurting the league. I think you should suspend him.
Oh and Elton, you really did miss the blow up of the year. Ray put on a hell of a show.
