I'm not going to say that I totally blame our loss on the reffing at the end of the game, because there are a lot of things that we could have done to avoid being in that situation. But, that series of events was awful. As Nick and I said when we were talking last night, the right call would have been to give the ball to Elton's team with 1 second left from half court. Another big thing that kills me is ok, we get the ball back with 7 seconds, once the ref blows the wistle, the clock should have been running (which didn't happen). If the clock would have been running when it was supposed to, maybe Clint doesn't have time to get that shot off.
I would like to say one thing though, and I am not calling out Yones at all, he is just the first person to say something negative about the refs and I would have responded to whoever it was that did that.
I agree that there were times when Jason and Jeff were bad, and I have had my fair share of techs called, but do you guys realize they were like our 4th set of refs b/c we have disliked/complained about every group we have had? I dont know what happened in this partiuclar instance, but it took all of one night for a player to already have a complaint about us reffing our own games. I think everybody in the league really needs to look at their teams performance, their own performance and style of play, and their turnovers, missed shots, etc. and stop looking to the refs as scapegoats. Again, Yones, I am not calling you out or anything, so dont get worked up, you just happened to be the first to say something.
You and Fadi did just fine last night joe..... As long as I know you guys are atleast trying, and at least you give a fukc about it (unlike jason who was getting paid to not give a fukc) then thats all that matters. So everyone just relax and be cool......... they aint getting paid for this.
Joey the 1st thing Yono said was about the team. I'm not mad or trying to argue but i think if we told you the circumstance maybe you'd feel different. It really was the worst possible situation that couldve happened(btw it was Nick not Dani) and the funny thing was we discussed it with the refs in the timeout before that play to make sure something like that wouldnt happen and it still did. you're right though we blew it and Clint hit a bad ass shot. I'd feel better knowing we lossed because we suck than what happened last night thats all.

If it makes anyone feel better, Yono's team already lost in regulation. I messed up and told the refs that Elton's team had 7 fouls. Nate wnet to the line and nailed 2 free throws. The game should have ended in regulation with Elton's team winning by 2. So all in all, the right team won. Plus if Zeke would have just thrown the ball into the back court with 3 seconds to go rather than passign the ball in with 5 seconds to go, the game would have been over. Time would have expired and Eltons team would not have had a chance at all.
However, I do agree, that's ****ed up. ha ha. just glad it wasn't us. I would have been suspended.
i like the new reffing because at least we get an explanation when a call is made unlike the other two ufthees who made calls and didn't even have rational for why they made them (prob cuz they didn't know sh!t about bball in the first place).
P.S. clint, even if we dont make the playoffs, ill still be satisfied because of that game winner, wow.
I thought the refereeing last night was much improved over the past few seasons. I played in two games and watched up to the 2nd half of the 3rd game. I missed the Clint buzzered beater.
Overall, very consistent calls (never had that before!), excellent communication, and maintained the flow of the game. And I think the later is probably the element we've been missing this season.
Yea I liked the refing a lot yesterday no issues w/ me, but I dont know what the f*ck nick was thinking, maybe he needed yono's team to lose so they have a better chance to make the playoffs.....I'M JUST SAYIN, they did need yono's team and Mikes team to lose.
yono's team was up 4...eltons team had the ball with 20 seconds left and took a time out. during the time out nate took dani aside and asked him to count to 5 for us if eltons team scored so we would know when to throw the ball in and not be penalized for 5 seconds. eltons team scored with 7 seconds left...we assume it took about a second for dani to get fadi the ball. dani stood next to fadi and counted to 5. when dani said 4 seconds fadi threw the ball and the horn sounded...nick called 5 seconds from half court and tried to give eltons team the ball with 2 seconds left. dani explained to nick the conversation we had and told him he was at 4 when the ball was thrown in...nick said he was wrong and he had counted 5...they ended up redoing the play with us out of bounds and 7 seconds left. after that i dont have a problem with...we inbounded the ball and was fouled at 6 seconds...after a missed free throw they scored and won.
what i do have a problem with is that 1) i dont think it was nick's call to make. 2) when dani told him his side nick should have backed off. 3) if the refs do decide to re do the play in no way should time be added back to the clock. calls are made bad all the time and time is never added back on...it is only added when the timekeeper took too much time off and the ref asks to put some back on. 4) if we were going to do the redo than time should have started once zeke got the ball in his hands.

Not that it is my business but just for clarification, Nate and Zeke said that the fair thing would be to give the ball back to Nate's team with 7 seconds to go adn do the play over. Which is what happened and Thomas you are wrong, the clock did start when Zeke was handed the ball. He just inbounded it right away which didn't kill any time.
